Christina Maria Bennekov (born 1984) is a Danish artist who works with all kinds of traditional media: acrylics, oil, colored pencils, water colors, coal, pencils, graphite, markers and paper craft. One of the characteristics of her paintings is the untraditional use of media - she often adds glitter, sequins, rhinestones and pearls to her artwork.
The untraditional media adds to the dark, fantastical style of Christina's paintings. Mixing hyperrealism with fantasy, darkness and emotion, she creates a unique artistic universe. Under her pseudonym, Imogen, she was in the top 10 of Talent of The Year 2012 and three of her paintings made it to the finale of the official Danish Artwork of the Year competition in 2012.
Christina also writes poetry which often accompanies her paintings. Christina's inspiration is therefore everything she encounters. She believes that there is inspiration to be found everywhere. Biography: Christina started painting and drawing in 2004. Before she started to paint, she suffered from various psychological problems, but they began to cease when she started to express herself creatively. Christina believes that any creative expression is the body's own way of getting rid of emotions it for some reason can't hold inside. Creativity is a way to remain in balance.
